My therapeutic approach is eclectic overall, but does draw strongly from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), Strategic Family Systems approaches, rational-emotive and reality therapies, behavior therapy and psycho-dynamic influences. I see myself essentially as a collaborator in the therapy process, guiding clients into experiencing necessary and important insights; making important life decisions; setting healthy emotional and behavioral boundaries; and reframing negative self-talk. When appropriate, I employ humor liberally in my work, and believe strongly in the power of analogic thought and parables to promote insight, particularly in my work with young people. I am assisted in my practice by a full-time office manager operating out of a separate administrative facility.
